Fragrance Guide

Understanding Scent Notes

Every fragrance is composed of three layers that reveal themselves over time.

Top notes — what you smell first, lasting 15–30 minutes. Often citrus, herbs, or light florals.
Heart notes — the core of the fragrance, emerging after 30 minutes and lasting several hours.
Base notes — the foundation that lingers longest. Woods, musks, ambers, and vanilla.

How to Choose Your Scent

Think about how you want to feel, not just how you want to smell.

Grounded & smoky — Afendi, Shahrazad, Roisin
Fresh & clean — Ecco, Burtukal
Warm & creamy — Nubian Vanilla, Electri, Kesar

Layering Techniques

Layering creates a scent that is uniquely yours. Start with body oil on warm, slightly damp skin — this locks in moisture and gives the fragrance something to hold onto. Apply perfume over the top to extend longevity and deepen the experience.

Body oils and perfumes in the same scent family layer seamlessly. You can also experiment across families — a vanilla body oil under a smoky perfume adds unexpected warmth and softness.

Application Tips

Apply to pulse points where the skin is warmest: wrists, neck, inner elbows, and behind the ears. Avoid rubbing the wrists together — this breaks down the top notes and shortens longevity. Let the scent settle and breathe on your skin.

Caring for Your Candle

Trim the wick to about 5mm before every burn. On the first use, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar — this prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
